Giving me yet another reason to establish roots on Japan, Shin Yamashita, a student from the Kyoto Institute of Technology, has developed an all-in-one contraption that would allow users to lounge, eat, sleep, drink, watch television and play video games all the the same ergonomic space.
The “Land Peel” is essentially a lightweight lounge mat that has pre cut slots and folds that allow users to flip, slide and cinch various corners and flaps into everything from a table top to do some laptop work to a pillow top to catch some shuteye.
And not to sound like one of those late night home gym commercials, but the Land Peel folds up to a relatively small size so you can store it practically anywhere without taking up too much space!
No word yet on its production and cost, but I hope something along these lines makes it across that big blue ocean and into the home of some of the more design conscious among us soon.
