Tag your territory! Even your food!

Spotted just the other day on Uncluttered White Spaces, the innovative people over at The Deli Garage have come up with an amazing way to combine art and this country’s undying love of food into one of the most contagiously creative products I’ve seen in a very long time.

Introducing  Esslack Food Spray! A 100% edible, spray-paint-like substance that comes in gold and silver varieties. The concept itself is ingenious and could potentially have a great deal of shelf life if it catches on with the right target audiences (read: eccentric designers and hipsters).

The gold variation of Esslack spray paint in action.

The idea was created in Germany along side the uber haute Korefe agency. Notwithstanding, the can art is pretty damned imaginative, too.

Now, I don’t foresee an increase in foodie gangs tagging four-course dinners from here to Momofuku, but I’ll bet my hard-earned blogging dollars that a ballsy group of rouge chefs out there will make sure that spray painted foods and garnishes will become something of a signature for their most prolific dishes in the near future.

The edible paint also comes in silver.

Until then, feel free to pick up a can or two of the stuff yourself. Go nuts with it! It’ll be the the perfect opportunity to show all of your friends how progressive and artistically ahead of the curve you are.
